This project includes two Data tables. A beginner mistake might be to try to create a relationship between the two tables. The problem boils down to the filter flow. If we select a filter and the relationships are not set up correctly, we may not be filtering both data tables in the same fashion, and therefore our results would be skewed. This may or not be immediately visible.
Budget and Sales are both Data tables. They have differing granularity. (Sales – daily, Budget – monthly) There are two additional Look-Up tables added: BudgetPeriod, and ProductCategory. These two tables are connected directly to the Budget table and indirectly (through Calendar and Products) to the Sales table. In the table “Double Data,” therefore we must use ProductCategory [Category] and BudgetPeriod [Period] to have the filters flow appropriately to both Data tables.
